Quien haya escuchado Nile alguna vez, seguramente identificará los atmosféricos y épicos interludios musicales inspirados en la antigua civilización egipcia.

Muchas de estas ideas fueron plasmadas en Saurian Meditation, el primer álbum solista de Karl Sanders, reconocido por ser el vocalista/guitarrista de la banda de Brutal/Technical Death Metal Nile.

Un trabajo muy diferente al de su otra banda, que nos permite abrirnos a nuevos horizontes musicales gracias al talento de este excelente artista.

Originaria de Carolina del Sur, Estados Unidos, Nile fue formada en 1993 por el guitarrista-vocalista Karl Sanders.

Su música, original y famosa por su velocidad, potencia y complejos riffs técnicos, está inspirada en el Antiguo Egipto, religión, arte, misticismo y en algunas escrituras (como otras bandas de Metal) de H.P. Lovecraft. Combina el Brutal/Technical Death Metal con elementos de la música del Medio Oriente, incorporando instrumentos tradicionales egipcios en varias canciones.

In Their Darkened Shrines es su tercer álbum de estudio y salió al mercado a través del sello Relapse Records en Agosto del 2002.
